Noni Chawla [read Noni's articles...]
Nripjit Singh (Noni) Chawla completed his MBA from the Indian Institute of Management,
Calcutta in 1970. For 32 years Noni worked in the corporate sector. Starting in the
area of marketing, Noni quickly graduated to General Management and his last two
positions were as the CEO of international companies.

Since 2002 Noni has been a
management professor and a consultant.
Noni Chawla's extensive work experience spans a diversity of industries and
functions including:
- Hospitality & tourism
- Manufacturing
- Healthcare
- International trade
- Management consulting
Noni Chawla has in-depth experience of setting up new businesses, including hotels,
healthcare and consulting. He has worked for both the private and public sectors.
- He spent more than 20 years in ITC Limited (one of India's largest companies and the Indian associate of
BAT Industries), in its hotel business and the International Business Division. He was actively involved
in and co-steered ITC's diversification into several new businesses
- He was the founder CEO of Max Healthcare, a premier private sector healthcare company in
India, which set new standards of service in that business
- He has been the country manager for Korn/Ferry International.
Noni Chawla has experience of working with and managing international joint venture
partners and consultants. His functional experience spans marketing, business
development, corporate planning, strategy formulation and implementation.
He has been a consultant to public and non-profit organisations including
UNICEF and the African Development Bank.
He has extensive experience in working across cultures, having travelled extensively
for work and pleasure in more than 40 countries on three continents.
He has also been on a roster of consultants of the World Bank, World Tourism
Organisation and The Export Import Bank of India. Noni Chawla is currently a
member of the National Tourism Advisory Council, Government of India.
He is a visiting faculty member at some of the most prestigious business
schools in India including the Indian School of Business (Hyderabad) and
Management Development Institute, Gurgaon (Delhi). He is a regular
contributor to business media. He is also a frequent speaker at management forums.
Noni Chawla is married and has two children. He is an avid reader, a serious amateur
photographer, angler and an adventure traveler
